    ABOUT US

We are Firle and we do bonfire!

Although records of Bonfire activities in Firle go back to the 1870s, the Firle Bonfire Society was re-formed in 1981 to encourage and promote traditional bonfire festivities in the village. Every October we hold an annual Bonfire Night with torchlit processions and fireworks display in commemoration of the discovery of the Gunpowder Plot in 1605.
